Tummy Tuck

Pregnancy and weight gain can cause the abdominal muscles and skin to stretch considerably. Diet and exercise are somewhat helpful but may not be enough. Abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, removes the excess skin and fat from the abdomen, and tightens the muscles.

Light activity can be resumed after two weeks and strenuous activity after six weeks. Most patients find the recovery time a small price to pay to be able to wear slim-fitting pants, skirts and bathing suits again.

Liposuction

Liposuction is not a replacement for diet and exercise, but is excellent for those trouble areas (saddlebags, love handles, etc.). It is performed as an outpatient, and recovery is fairly easy.
